Getting Started

"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge."
                                  ~ Albert Einstein

Another summer seems to be quickly slipping away and with that the start of another school year is upon us. Even though I don't have all the summer projects done that I wanted to accomplish, it is time to start energizing for a new year of learning, a new group of students and for me new schools, new staff, and a new position.  I am excited to be joining the Sequim Schools and honored to be working with the intermediate grades on literacy.

I decided to create this space to collect and share ideas, websites, new books, quips, quotes, and maybe some anecdotes. My hope is that this can become a storage space for teaching tips and ideas. So often when I find a great tip, I write it down for when I need it and then when I need it I can't find where I left the note.  So here is some sharing space, where ideas can be recorded for all and stored for future reference.

Some of my favorite websites to check out for new ideas include:
              Choice Literacy
                       The Book Whisperer
                                 Lit For Kids
                                           The 2 Sisters
The weekly newsletters for Choice Literacy and The 2 Sisters provide great tips and sites to check out. Share your list of favorite sites in the comments.  Have a great start to your school year!

Just me, Teresa :)
